I would join club sports. It’s a fun way to socialize and exercise. I played flag football and loved it. In the dining hall, start your meal with a salad. You can go over to the different stations like the vegetarian, grill or deli and add unique toppings like turkey, sautéed Brussels sprouts, a piece of polenta or a spoonful of rice. Before you know it, your salad is a well-balanced meal and you don’t feel deprived. The salad bowl will also help with portion size. If you get a craving for pasta, put it in a cereal bowl. They are usually smaller and you’ll still be able to enjoy your pasta.
