Last Saturday, Brandon and I also attended the first Gluten Free Oktoberfest at Pie by the Pound in NYC. It was unlimited food and drinks for 3 hours. We had a very busy day!
We sampled so many gluten free beers and ciders. My favorites were the Nine Pin Ginger Cider and the Ace Pineapple Cider. I think those are both strange combinations, but they were weirdly delicious and addicting. I’m hooked!
We also had a lot of food including: pizza (spinach and ricotta, margarita, sauerkraut) meatballs, sausage, bratwurst, kielbasa, cucumber salad, roasted potatoes, tater tots, tater tots with gluten free beer cheese sauce, sauerkraut sandwiches, grilled cheese, soft pretzels, regular pretzels, cheddar cheese, munster cheese, german chocolate brownies, apple crumble and a few more items I can’t remember right now.
Everything was delicious. My favorites were the margarita pizza, meatballs and soft pretzels! I can’t remember the last time I had a soft pretzel. I might have had a few too many of them!
The best part about the night was that I didn’t have to worry about my food because everything was gluten free. It was such a relief. Brandon and I are definitely going back to Pie by the Pound for dinner one night.
