Fake Chili Recipe

I recently bought a crock pot. I wanted one for so long and there are so many recipes online. I’m so intimidated by it though…

I really don’t understand why I feel this way. Maybe it’s because this is my 3rd time using it and the first time I’ve made something edible and flavorful.

I basically took a basic chili recipe and made it my own.

Ingredients:Β 1 lb of lean ground turkey,Β 1 onion, can of diced tomatoes, can of black beans, can of kidney beans, can of corn and a lot of spices. I used salt, pepper, steak seasoning, Frank’s red hot sauce, garlic powder, onion powder, minced onions, chopping garlic, paprika and red pepper flakes. I also had a spoonful or 2 of pizza sauce left so I threw that in as well.

I cooked the onions and meat in a saute pan before placing it in the crock pot. I didn’t cook them all the way through as that’s the crock pot’s job! I drained and rinsed off both cans of beans and corn. I basically threw everything into the crock pot, seasoned it and turned it on. 6 hours later, I had something similar to chili.


It actually has flavor and I’m impressed with myself.
