On the coldest night of the year, Brandon and I headed in NYC to celebrate my friend Julie’s birthday (there’s your shout out girl!). She picked the restaurant, Dos Caminos, which is an upscale Mexican chain restaurant (5 locations in NYC, 1 in AC and 1 in FL). We were at the one in the Meatpacking district.
First things first, the service was great. I told the waitress I had a gluten allergy and all of the food that I ordered came out with an allergy sticker on it!
We all ordered chips, salsa and guacamole to start. The guac was really good!
For an appetizer, Brandon and I split the taquitos de pollo, which was pulled chicken and sweet potatoes in crispy corn tortillas with crema, queso fresco and tomatillo-avocado salsa.
They were really good and an excellent portion size!
Since we got an appetizer, I ordered a mahi mahi naked taco bowl and it came with quinoa, black beans, arugula with onions, avocado and pomegranate seeds.
I wish there was more mahi mahi, but it was totally portion sized. I got a little taste of everything.
Brandon ordered the same thing but with skirt steak.
Brandon liked his as well. Everyone at the table actually liked their meals.
Have you eaten at Dos Caminos? What do you think?
