Honestly, I picked up the Schar Gluten Free Cinnamon Raisin Bagels from the supermarket because I knew they would travel well. They did and luckily, I didn’t need them for my traveling. I finally decided to open up the package and try them last week. I ate one, put one in the fridge in a ziplock bag and the other 2 in the freezer. I don’t want to eat all 4 bagels in the same week!
The cinnamon raisin bagel was good and I was surprised. I didn’t expect it to have any kind of bagel texture, but it did.
I had a bagel with some of the Trader Joe’s herb goat cheese. It was good, but the bagel had no flavor. I realized I should have toasted it as I was eating it.
I also tried the bagel toasted with butter. Ding ding ding, we have a winner. Toasting the bagel completely changed the texture, taste and flavor.
I will definitely be toasting the other bagels too.
I haven’t been disappointed with the Schar products yet. Everything I try is good, not great. I really like that you don’t need to put them in the fridge or freezer right off the bat!
