Brandon, Brandon’s mom, her boyfriend and I went out to Posto 22 for her birthday. The restaurant got really good online reviews and they had a gluten free menu with a lot of options.
The restaurant was packed with a lot of parties, but they had a table for us. The waiter came over, didn’t introduce himself and asked if we wanted any drinks. We said no and it took him another 10-15 minutes to come back and wait for our order. The service was terrible the entire meal to say the least.
To start, Brandon got the buratta with heirloom tomatoes, balsamic vinegar, olive oil and basil.
He liked it. I got to try a piece and it was good. I liked the balsamic dressing the most. It was so sweet.
For lunch, I got the chicken special. It was grilled chicken, eggplant and mozzarella cheese in tomato sauce with sautéed escarole.
It was really okay. The chicken was dry and I didn’t finish it. It also took forever to get the food.
We got dessert because we were celebrating! I got the chocolate mousse cake: rich chocolate mousse layered with chocolate cake (it was flourless). The whipped cream and chocolate fudge was great.
I ate the entire piece all by myself. It was really good. It wasn’t the best gluten free dessert, but it did the trick.
To sum up this short review, we won’t be going back there.
